போலி பல்கலை. பட்டம் செல்லாது: யுஜிசி எச்சரிக்கை

பல்கலைக்கழக மானியக் குழு (யுஜிசி) செயலர் மணிஷ் ஜோஷி வெளியிட்ட அறிவிப்பில் கூறியிருப்பதாவது: யுஜிசி விதிகளுக்கு மாறாக பல்வேறு கல்வி நிறுவனங்கள் பட்டங்களை வழங்குவதாக கவனத்துக்கு கொண்டு வரப்பட்டுள்ளது. இத்தகைய நிறுவனங்களால் வழங்கப்படும் பட்டங்கள் மூலம் வேலைவாய்ப்பு அல்லது உயர்கல்வி வாய்ப்புகளை பெற முடியாது. எனவே, மாணவர்கள் கல்லூரிகளில் சேரும் முன்பு சம்பந்தப்பட்ட கல்வி நிறுவனம் குறித்த விவரங்களையும், போலிபல்கலைக்கழகங்கள் குறித்த விவரங்களையும் www.ugc.ac.in என்ற இணையதளத்தில் தெரிந்து கொள்ளலாம். ஆந்திரா, டெல்லி, கர்நாடகா, கேரளா, மகாராஷ்டிரா, புதுச்சேரி, உத்தர பிரதேசம், மேற்கு வங்கம் ஆகிய மாநிலங்களில் மொத்தம் 20 போலி பல்கலைக்கழகங்கள் உள்ளன. அதேநேரம், யுஜிசி விதிகளுக்கு மாறாக பட்டப் படிப்பை வழங்கும் நிறுவனங்கள் குறித்து ugcampc@gmail.com என்ற மின்னஞ்சலுக்கு தெரிவித்தால், சம்பந்தப்பட்ட கல்வி நிறுவனங்கள் மீது நடவடிக்கை எடுக்கப்படும் என எச்சரிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

UGC - National Inter-college Crossword Expedition (NICE) 2023

.

As you are aware, National Education Policy 2020, recognises that vibrant campus life is essential for high quality teaching-learning processes. Towards this end, students will be given plenty of opportunities for participation in sports, culture/arts clubs, eco-clubs, activity clubs, community service projecs, etc. Each institution will be committed to the holistic development of students and create strong internal systems for supporting diverse student cohorts in academic and social dombins both inside and outside formal academic interactions in the classroom. Crosswords have a proven kack record of being an excellent leaming tool and at the same time providing a fun-filled pastime. It is one exercise which comes with multiple benefits. Keeping this in mind, it has been decided to bring about the crossword-solving cultue in the institutes of higher education through a 'National Inter-college Crossword Expedltion (NICE)'a contest involving solving of cryptic crossword clues.

It is scheduled to be held between March-August, 2023 for which regisnation has staned. It will be conducted through online (initial rounds) and offline modes (zonal and national rounds). ln this regard AICTE has issued guidelines dated 06.03.2023 for NICE-2023, a copy of which is attached for reference.

The Higher Education Institutions arc requested to widely disseminate about NICE and encourage the students to participate in the initiatives by AICTE.

The department of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation under Ministry of Jal Shakti has launched the 4th National Water Awards by Ministry of Jal Shakti on Rashtriya Puraskar Portal. The purpose of the awards is to recognize the work and efforts made in the field of water conservation and management by individuals and organizations, and motivate larger number of population to work for this purpose. Atl the applications will be received through the online Rashtriya Purushkar Portal (www.awards.gov.in) only. This portal may also be referred for any further details.

All the Higher Educational Institutions and their affiliated colleges/institutions are requested to publicize this award so that a large number of entries are received in various categories. The last date for receiving the application has been extended from 15th September,2o22to 3os September,2C.22. A copy of the National Water Awards Guidelines is attached.

The rapid pace of irrigation growth, urbar:rization & industrialiaation has put enormous stress on water rssources. f'umulative inrpact of increase in use of this precious natural rssourcs has Ie to waler scarcity in rnany regions of the country. Nevertheless, the climate change has also resulted in change in hydrologic cycle in the country. Hence,, it is necessary that this ssarce res$urcs is protectedby eft-ective and efficient management on sound scientific methodology fbr its sustainable dev'elopment.

The Ground Water Augrnentation Arvards and National w*ate,r Ar.vards w,ere launched in the year 2007 with an objective to encourage all stakeholder including the Non- Governmental Organizations (NGOs), Gram Panchayats, Urban Local Bodies.

Water User Associations, tnstitutions. Corporate Sector, Individuals ete^ for adopting innovative practices of ground water augmentation by rainwater harvesting and a*ificial recharge, promoting water use etTiciency, recycling & re-use of .water and creating awareness through people's participation in the targeted areas resulting into the sustainahility of ground '*rater resources development. adequate capacity building arnongst the stakeholders ets.

Considering the fact that surface water & ground water are integral part of the water cycle' it wss felt necessary to institute unified National Water Awards with the $bjectives Erf encouraging the stakeholders to adopt holistic approach towards \sater re$ources consen'ation and managernent in the country. In vierv of this, I't National w*ater Awards (2018), 2"d National Water Awards (2019) ald 3'd National \,ly'ater Au'ards {?0?0} r+€re successfully organized by the Department and the winners in different categories wsre felicitnted with owards.

UGC letter regarding: Instructions regarding refund of Hostel Mess charges during closure of hostel mess during COVID-19 Pandemic



As you are aware that UGC has issued guidelines on Academic Calendar and Examination in view of COVID-I9 Pandemic. A letter dated 27.o1.2ozo and L7.L2.2o2o was also issued to HEIs requesting them to ensure eompliance in respect of refund of fee. Inspite of this, several references have been received from students stating that they did not use the hostel and mess services during the COVID-I9 Pandemic period yet the institutions are not adjusting/refunding the mess charges and hostel fees, already paid by them.

All the higher educational institutions are requested to adjustlcarry forward the mess charges and hostel fees to all students charged during the COVID-I9 Pandemic period. You are requested to comply with the instructions in letter and spirit. With kind regards
