ORDER:
Cyclone "Nivar has intensified into a "Very Severe Cyclonic Storm' and is expected to make a land fall in coastal areas of Tamil Nadu during midnight of 25.11.2020. In view of the above, the Government has decided to declare Public Holiday in 16 districts of the State on Thursday the 26" November 2020, under the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 as a special case.
The State Government accordingly issues the following orders:-
i) All Government offices including offices of local bodies, Government undertakings/ Corporations, Boards, Banks, Financial Institutions etc., will be closed in 16 districts of the State on 26,11.2020.
) However, all essential services shail function as usual.
2. Accordingly the following notification will be published in the extra ordinary issue of the Tamil Nadu Gazette on Wednesday the 25 November 2020. NOTIFICATION
Under the "Explanation" to section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 (Central Act XXVI of 1881) read with Notification of the Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, No.20-25-26, Public 1, dated the 8th June 1957, the Government of Tamil Nadu hereby declares Thursday the 26 November 2020, a Public Holiday for sixteen districts [ Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Thiruvannamalai, Cuddalore, Kancheepuram, Chennai, Chengalpattu, Thiruvallur, Ariyalur, Perambalur, Kallakurichi, Villupuram, Tirupattur, Vellore, Ranipet, Nagapattinam (including Mayiladuthurai)] in the State of Tamil Nadu.
