A recent court case in the Madras High Court's Madurai bench challenges the New Pension Scheme (NPS) and advocates for the implementation of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) for government employees and teachers.

The case was filed by Frederick Engels of the Dindigul district.

The petitioner highlighted that the government order for the NPS was implemented in August 2003 without specific rules, and the state government has not followed the central government's regulatory authority for 12 years.

Justices Anita Sumanth and C. Kumaran ordered the Tamil Nadu government to clarify its position on the matter. The case was adjourned until November 19.

New Pension Scheme: Case filed for cancellation

In a case demanding the cancellation of the new pension scheme and implementation of the old pension scheme, the Madras High Court Madurai bench has ordered the Tamil Nadu government to clarify its position.

A petition was filed by Frederick Engels from the Dindigul district:

We requested the Tamil Nadu government to cancel the new pension scheme and implement the old pension scheme. There was no action. An order should be issued to implement the old pension scheme. This was stated. Justices Anita Sumanth and C. Kumaran's bench heard the case.

Petitioner's side: The government order for the new pension scheme for government employees and teachers who joined service after April 1, 2003, was implemented on August 6, 2003. There are no rules for it. The central government created the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority in 2013. The Tamil Nadu government has not followed it for 12 years. Due to this, many are unable to receive pension benefits, it was informed. மனுதாரர் தரப்பு: 2003 ஏப்.1 க்கு பின் பணியில் சேர்ந்த அரசு ஊழியர்கள், ஆசிரியர்களுக்கு புதிய ஓய்வூதிய திட்டத்திற்கான அரசாணை 2003 ஆக.6ல் நடைமுறைப்படுத்தப்பட் டது. அதற்கான விதிமு றைகள் எதும் இல்லை. மத்திய அரசு 2013 ல் ஓய் வூதிய நிதி ஒழுங்காற்று மற்றும் மேம்பாட்டு ஆணையத்தை உருவாக்கி யது.
