Disappointed students returned home as the school was not open till 9:00 am near Villupuram. Next to Villupuram is the Panchayat Union Primary School. The school has five teachers, including Arulmalar as the head teacher; 109 students are studying. Schools were reopened yesterday after the summer holidays.
Prior to that, guidelines had been announced for teachers. Teachers, including the head teacher, must keep the school open by 8:30 p.m. The Department of Education had advised that students coming to the school should be welcomed as per the Corona guidelines.However, the Poyapakkam school was not open till 9:00 am. The students, who came to the school eagerly from 8:30 am, waited for more than half an hour as the entrance gate was locked.
Some students returned home. At 9:10 a.m., the headmaster, Arulmalar, opened the school. After that at 9:15 am the other teachers came one by one. The teachers, knowing that some students had come and gone back to the school, informed the students about the opening of the school and brought them back. Ordered to give explanation.
