4. Hon'ble Minister for Medical and Family Welfare announcement made in the inauguration function of vaccination for students above 18 years in Govt. Nandanam Arts College, Chennai on 28.08.2021
All Deputy Directors of Health Services are informed that as per Gol instructions and guidelines Covid-19 Vaccination drive in the State has been initiated from 16.1.2021 and continuing till now.
Till date, (27.08.2021) 2,86,14,582 beneficiaries have been vaccinated with both Covishield and Covaxin. In the reference 2nd cited, the category of people of age group of 18+ years to be vaccinated at free of cost were communicated.
In the reference 4th cited, the Hon'ble Minister for Medical and Family Welfare and Hon'ble Minister for Higher Education have announced that all students of above 18 years studying in Government, Aided and Private Arts &Science Colleges have to be vaccinated with Covid vaccines immediately.
In this regard, all the Principals of Government, Aided and Private Arts & Science Colleges have been requested to instruct all students to get vaccinated immediately from 29-08-2021 and complete by 01-09-2021.
Further, the Director of Collegiate Education have been requested to instruct all the Principals to co-ordinate with concerned DDHS of the Health Unit Districts for conducting the "Special Vaccination Campaigns for the students above 18 years" immediately from 29-08-2021. Hence, all the Deputy Directors of Health Services are instructed to plan for utilizing all the MMU/RBSK Teams for conducting "Special Vaccination Campaign to vaccinate the students studying in Government, Aided and Private Arts & Science Colleges and Professional Courses like Agriculture, Engineering and Polytechnics etc., immediately from 29-08-2021 onwards and to ensure the entries in Co-WIN portal.
Also, all the Principals were instructed by the Director of Collegiate Education to ensure the Vaccination Certificate as a proof of evidence for the vaccination status of the students.
A separate Google sheet is being sent for report updates.
