Chennai, Secretariat, Planning and Development Department Additional Chief Secretary to Government's letter No.1889/SP./2020-3 dated 25.07.2020 Government in the letter first cited, has informed that the Prime Minister's Award for Excellence in Public Administration are designed to acknowledge, recognize and reward the exemplary work done by the civil servants across the country. The awards are presented by the Hon'ble Prime Minister on the occasion of the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas on 31.10.2020.
The copy of the letter received along with the letter 2nd cited is enclosed herewith to take necessary action for submission of applicaation for the above awards.

- 2 A meeting through Video Conference was conducted on 22.07.2020 by the Joint Secretary, Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) to discuss about proposed nominations for · the Prime Minister's Awards for Excellence in Public Administration 2020 to be distributed on Rashtriya Ekta Diwas on 31.10.2020.7 ✓
3. In the reference second cited, all Collectors were addressed by Additional Chief Secretary, Planning & Development Department to participate in the Video Conference. In the reference third cited (copy enclosed), the Collectors of all Districts have been requested to apply for the awards considering the work done in their Districts and inform the same to Planning and Development Department at plansec@tn.gov.in. The good work done in Tamil Nadu in respect of your Department at State Level / District Level needs to reflect in the applications and surely in the awards.

In this regard, I am therefore to request you to kindly apply for the award for Departments to reflect your excellent work and to urge Collectors concerned to showcase the good work done in their Districts.in. respect of your Department by applying for the said awards. An Action Taken Report may be sent to this Department in this regard.

3. For the year 2020, the Scheme for PM's Awards for Excellence in l'ublic Administration has been revamped to recognize the contribution of District: to the national goals of Economic Development by • Inclusive Development through Credit Flow to the l'riority Sector Promoting people's movements - "Jan Bhagidari" through Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban & Gramin) in the district and • Improving service delivery and redressal of public grievances. Further the Scheme also recognize exceptional contributions in • Innovations • Aspirational Districts Program and . Naniami Gange.
4. The registration on the PM's Awards Web Portal will conience from July 15". 2020 and submission of application for award will be from August !", 2020 to August 15, 2020 after registration.
5. VC meetings of Joint Secretary(DARPG) is scheduled with Principal Secretaries (AR) I (IT) of States/ UTs and All District Officials (DMs/ DCs) of Statesi UTs, to discuss participation in these prestigious awards as per schedule attached (Annexure).
