According to the report, a survey conducted in Mumbai during the current academic year (2022 - 2023) revealed that 269 schools were operating illegally without proper permits. During the last academic year, 283 schools were found to be operating illegally and 11 schools were closed.
In addition, 4 schools were incorporated into the National Institute of Open Schools. 4 more schools were brought under the control of the corporation. இது தொடர்பாக நடவடிக்கை எடுக்கும்படி மும்பை மாநகராட்சி கல்வித்துறை அதிகாரிகளுக்கு தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டது. இதையடுத்து, மாநகராட்சி கல்வித்துறை அதிகாரிகள் ஆய்வு நடத்தி அறிக்கை சமர்ப்பித்தனர். அந்த அறிக்கையில், மும்பையில் நடப்பு கல்வியாண்டில் (2022 - 2023) நடத்திய ஆய்வின்படி 269 பள்ளிகள் முறையான அனுமதியின்றி சட்டவிரோதமாக இயங்கி வருவது தெரியவந்தது.
கடந்த கல்வி ஆண்டை பொறுத்தவரை 283 பள்ளிகள் சட்டவிரோதமாக செயல்பட்டு வந்ததும், இது தொடர்பாக நடவடிக்கை எடுக்கப்பட்டு 11 பள்ளிகள் மூடப்பட்டதும் தெரியவந்தது.
மேலும், 4 பள்ளிகள் தேசிய இன்ஸ்டிடியூட் ஆப் திறந்தவெளி பள்ளிகளில் இணைக்கப்பட்டது. இன்னும் 4 பள்ளிகள் மாநகராட்சி கட்டுப்பாட்டில் கொண்டு வரப்பட்டது.
இதேபோல, மிராபயந்தர் மாநகராட்சியின் கீழ் செயல்பட்டு வந்த பள்ளிகளில் நடத்திய ஆய்வில் 7 பள்ளிகள் சட்டவிரோதமாக செயல்பட்டு வந்ததாக தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
