State-Specific Increases
Haryana:
Regular Employees: Entitlement increased from 20 days to 25 annual leaves as of March 2025.
Contractual Employees: Entitlement for women under the Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam (HKRN) was increased from 10 days to 22 days per year. This includes an additional two days of CL per month.
Odisha: Total leave specifically for female employees has been raised to 27 days annually.
This includes:
10 days of existing regular Casual Leave.
5 days of Special Casual Leave.
12 additional days specifically for menstrual leave (one day per month).
Karnataka: Introduced the Karnataka Menstrual Leave Policy 2025, which provides women in both government and private sectors (including IT firms and MNCs) with 12 days of paid menstrual leave annually.
Central Government Status
Casual Leave: As of late 2025, the Central Government maintains the status quo of 8 days of casual leave per year for its employees under the Central Civil Services (Leave) Rules, 1972.
Child Care Leave (CCL): Female employees remain entitled to a maximum of 730 days (2 years) during their entire service to care for up to two children.
Maternity Leave: Female government employees are entitled to 180 days of paid maternity leave.
Private Sector Regulations
Shops and Establishments Act: Most states mandate a minimum of 12 days of casual leave per year for employees in the private sector.

இந்தாண்டு, கர்நாடகா மாநிலத்தில் பெண்களுக் கான மாதவிடாய் விடுப்பு, அம்மாநில அரசால் நடைமு றைக்கு வந்துள்ளது. தமிழ் நாடு அரசு இதனை கருத்தில் கொண்டு, மாதவிடாய் சிறப்பு விடுப்பு என்று இல்லாமல், தற்செயல் விடுப்பு, 12 நாட்களாக உள்ளதை அரசு பணியில் உள்ள பெண்களுக்கு, 24 நாட்களாக உயர்த்தி வழங்கி வேண்டும்.
