ORDER:
In pursuance of the orders dated 22.09.2006, 03.07.2018 and 13.03.2019 of the Supreme Court of India in WP (Civil) No.310/1996 (Prakash Singh and Others Vs. Union of India & others), a proposal was sent to the Union Public Service Commission, New Delhi on 18.05.2021 in the letter fifth read above to convene the Empanelment Committee Meeting to prepare a panel of IPS officers for appointment to the post of Director General of Police and Head of Police Force, in lieu of the retirement of Thiru J.K.Tripathy, IPS, on completion of two years of his tenure as Director General of Police and Head of Police Force, Tamil Nadu on 30.06.2021. 2. Accordingly, the Union Public Service Commission, New Delhi convened the Empanelment Committee Meeting on 28.06.2021 at New Delhi and recommended a panel of the names of IPS officers as suitable for appointment to the post of Director General of Police and Head of Police Force, Tamil Nadu, in the letter sixth read above.
3. The Government have examined recommendations of the Commission carefully independently along with their service records. the and
4. The Government after due consideration appoint Dr.C.Sylendra Babu, IPS, (TN:1987) as Director General of Police, Tamil Nadu and Head of Police Force with effect from 01.07.2021.
